“PLACEBO return with the release of a reworked version of \u2018English Summer Rain\u2019 through Hut Recordings on February 23rd. It is the fourth single to be lifted from their acclaimed fourth album, \u2018Sleeping With Ghosts\u2019, which has now sold over 1.1 million copies worldwide.<\/p>\n
The single precedes the release of a full length DVD recorded at a sold out Bercy in Paris in front of 18,000 people. Entitled \u2018Placebo – Soulmates Never Die – Live In Paris\u2019, the DVD will be released March 8th. It includes additional documentary footage of the band on the road throughout 2003 as they undertook their mammoth world tour.”<\/p>\n
Endlich also eine Placebo-Live-DVD. Nat\u00fcrlich ein Muss f\u00fcr Sammler. Eine interessante Aufgabe f\u00fcr Sammler hat die Band am 1. Dezember gestellt. Da gab es einen Gig in Anaheim\/USA. Und das Besondere daran: Das gesamte Band-Equipment kam nicht rechtzeitig an. So lieh man sich Drums von Josh Homme, ein Piano vom veranstaltenden House of Blues und spielte ein 70-Minuten-Acoustic-Set. Sowas gab’s zwar schon ab und zu mal, Fans werden das legend\u00e4r gute MCM-Caf\u00e9-Bootleg kennen. Das Besondere an diesem Auftritt in Anaheim war aber die Setlist:<\/p>\n

Mehr Infos hab ich leider nicht. Aber ich gehe mal stark davon aus, dass mit “hurt” das nine-inch-nails-johnny-cash-st\u00fcck gemeint ist und mit “mercedes benz” der legend\u00e4re janis-joplin-song. Und das w\u00fcrde bedeuten, dass Placebo bei diesem Gig gleich zwei Songs zum ersten Mal \u00fcberhaupt live gespielt haben. Und w\u00e4hrend ich das aufschreibe, laufen in meinem Kopf diverse Sto\u00dfgebete, dass bitte bitte bitte irgendjemand einen Mitschnitt dieses Auftritts hat und ihn ins Netz stellt.
