Heute nun gibt es Entwarnung: Es gibt keinen Split, sondern Revolution\u00c3\u00a4res: Ash wollen kein Album mehr ver\u00c3\u00b6ffentlichen, sondern nur noch einzelne Songs. In einer <a href=\"http:\/\/walking-barefoot.com\/news\/2007\/06\/13\/official-press-release\/\">Pressemitteilung<\/a> verk\u00c3\u00bcndet Tim Wheeler:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The way people listen to music has changed, with the advent of the download the emphasis has reverted to single tracks. It hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t helped that most people have forgotten how to make a decent album. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m constantly disappointed with records I buy. I believe our new album is the pinnacle of everything we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve done thus far, and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m proud that this will be remembered as our last album. The future lies elsewhere and we can have a lot of fun by changing things up. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s like the Wild West at the moment, a time to take chances and try out new ideas.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re tied to the album format, you find yourself waiting six months between finishing a record and releasing it. By leaving this behind we can enter a new phase of spontaneity and creativity. We have our own studio in New York, we can record a track and release it the next day if we feel like it, give it to people while it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fresh. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re the first band to do this, but I very much doubt we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be the last.<\/p>\n<p>We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been one of the best singles bands of the last two decades and we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re still younger than a lot of bands on the current scene. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m excited to push this claim further by dedicating ourselves wholly to the art of the single for the digital age.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ich bin gespannt, wie viele Bands in Zukunft Ash folgen werden &#8211; und ob das Album-Format tats\u00c3\u00a4chlich tot ist. Ich habe da so meine Zweifel. Ich glaube immer noch, dass eine Reihe von Songs, die zum gleichen Zeitpunkt ver\u00c3\u00b6ffentlicht werden f\u00c3\u00bcr mehr \u00c3\u2013ffentlichkeit sorgen k\u00c3\u00b6nnen als einzelne immer wieder daher tr\u00c3\u00b6pfelnde St\u00c3\u00bccke. Zumal die Schwelle, sich einzelne Songs zu besorgen ohne daf\u00c3\u00bcr zu bezahlen bei vielen Nutzern weitaus geringer sein d\u00c3\u00bcrfte als bei einem Album &#8211; oder wie auch immer man diese Songpakete in Zukunft nennen m\u00c3\u00b6chte.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.de\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B000R9QEK4\/popkulturjunk-21\">twilight of the innocents<\/a>&#8220;, das letzte Ash-Album erscheint in Deutschland \u00c3\u00bcbrigens am 29.
